Greater Eastern Primary Health, in partnership with NPS – Better Choices, Better Health are offering a program on best practice for:Balancing Benefits and Harms of Antipsychotic Therapy
Dr. Igor Jakubowicz of Colchester and Knoxfield Medical Centre’s is the facilitator of which focuses on:
- Assessing benefits and harms of antipsychotic therapy
- Tips to engage patients/carers in recognising and managing adverse effect
- Ways to reinforce to patients the importance of adherence to antipsychotics when prescribed
- A planned approach to assess the ongoing need for antipsychotics for behavioural symptoms of dementia
GPs, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals can participate in the free educational and quality improvement activities that NPS offers. All our educational and quality improvement activities qualify for continuing professional development (CPD) points or qualify as an activity for the Quality Prescribing Initiative (QPI) of the Practice Incentives Program (PIP).
